Practical Historical Revisionism: Liberation of Auschwitz January 27, 1945 There are few sacred cows surrounding WWII that inspire such passionate defense as Auschwitz. But the question should be asked: Why did the Polish Government in Exile never mention the supposed slaughter in Auschwitz until 1945? Enrique Aynat studies Auschwitz and the Exile Government of Poland According to the 'Polish Fortnightly Review' 1940-1945 “If a great slaughter of Jews had taken place in Auschwitz, the Polish Government-in-Exile would have known of it and in consequence manifested a reaction of some kind.” Resistance orgs were present as early as 1940 in Auschwitz and had frequent contact with the outside world. Auschwitz was located in a densely populated area. Contacts were facilitated by the many prisoners who worked outside the camp together with members of the civilian population, and also because many civilian laborers worked within the camp.
