This evening I had the wonderful opportunity to listen to Senator Daniel Bonham and Representative Jeff Helfrich. This was a wonderful opportunity to listen to my future colleagues about what they believe were the short falls within the 2023 Long Session. Representative Jeff Helfrich and Senator Daniel Bonham hit the nail right on the head about where we need to be as a party, and what are the issues hitting this State. As a party, we need to have a plan for who will run if another incumbent chooses not to run again. The other side has a training apparatus to prepare candidates years, and even decades in advance, which we do not have that infrastructure on the Republicans side. We also need to stop stabbing each other in the back, and also have constant messaging to win the war of Public Opinion. As a state, Public Safety, Housing, and fighting for our conservative values are all issues we need to have a high focus on. This all accumulates to where we almost had what we needed to win the fight on HB 2002 & 2005. But people were just not willing to go far enough. I would like to thank the Wasco County Republican Party for allowing me to attend this evening.
