What are areas you can help others see the greater meaning in what they’re doing, or in what’s happening? If you lead teams; deal in meaning more often than teaching how to succeed. People are smart, but if they don’t have a strong will to do well, nothing else matters. If it’s with your children; help them see the why’s behind better behavior, what they are learning, or doing. Again, if they understand the bigger more meaningful reason, they are empowered to change or give their best. If you’re giving a speech the same truth applies. Knowledge is okay, but don’t miss your opportunity to stir-up the hearts and good works in others. And never forget the power of recognizing and encouraging others specifically. If you aren’t forgiving this will be hard, because you’re still blinded by their past versus being excited to encourage them in the present. Your words are powerful.
