Around 2500 years ago Iron Age farmers started building these homesteads. These slopes had already been farmed for 3000 years before these low stone walls were built to support wooden-roofed huts. For reference, Madagascar was only settled by Humans approximately 1,200 years ago and New Zealand was only settled by Humans approximately 700 years ago and both are largely accepted as having their own indigenous peoples. It goes without saying that the British Isles has its own indigenous peoples too, our ancestors have lived here for over 10,000 years. We know who we are.
