The Sun's declination varies between northern and southern extremes throughout the year. The summer solstice occurs over the northern hemisphere on June 20 or 21 when the Sun reaches its northernmost extreme, resulting in the maximum number of hours above the horizon, hence the longest day. #solstice #summersolstice #solstice2025
