Four UK citizens illegally crossed the Canadian border into Maine, and then two of them apparently thought the "oops, we got lost hiking" excuse was going to work. It didn't. All four eventually pleaded guilty to illegally entering the United States. Hameed Mohammed Nagi and Mohammed Sultan Saleh also admitted lying to federal investigators about how they got here. Investigators say Nagi had actually come looking for work because he was worried he wouldn't qualify for a visa. So instead of applying legally, the solution was apparently to travel to Canada, walk through the woods into Maine and hope nobody noticed.
