Not one human being is genuinely outraged re: the 'Young Republicans' group chat. Every performative condemnation is just an act of prostration for donors to see. The Republican Party, in all of its fire-breathing feigned outrage, is the bad guy in this. You can blame 'the Left,' and you'd be correct - but only if you're correctly counting the Republican Party as part of it. The GOP isn't excommunicating these guys to 'appease the enemy.' The GOP ~is~ the enemy. They're doing this because this is what they do; this is who they are. Continuing to differentiate between Team Red and Team Blue is a fool's errand. Neither of them are Team You if you're a straight White person who wants your posterity to inherit an America that wouldn't horrify the Founding Fathers at first sight. The fact that this is a top story tells you how entrenched in a fake and gay landscape we remain.
