✨ A poem inspired by this morning ✨ Slipping and sliding--forever gliding in my rain boots of old Hair whipping, curls flipping in the wind that was a little too cold Wearing shorts, hearing a distant goat snort in a hangry demand Regretting the shorts as I issue a retort to their hangriness--that was soon getting out of hand The rain picked-up and I was soon standing amuck in the goat's cozy pen I quickly gave them their food to lighten their mood and hoped their attitude would soon rescind As I continued to slip and slide rushing to my warm home where I love to abide, I paused a moment to see Left and right--everywhere in sight was beauty in the downpour and I chose to pause instead of flee Trees and plants captured the drops as if in a dance--nature's theatrical play God's detailed creation, everything in its station, watered and waiting for the sun's warming rays I'm glad I took the the time to see the beauty and write this rhyme--even though I'm drenched from head to toe But these little moments of delight seem ever bright and joy begins to flow #poetry #poems #writing #itsthelittlethings
