D-Day My mom was a child in a Belgium village and word got to her faster than internet that the Canadians had landed on the beach and the Americans followed. Some days later when the soldiers got to her town they were handing out powdered eggs and people gagged 🤢 & since she seemed to be the only one who loved them, everyone gave her their portions lol. They started counting the days until my grandfather would be released as a POW & my grandma was able to retire from the French Underground - the true resistance. 0>
