Pretty much every single part of this article needs more information. Reads like a bad propaganda piece. Every one of my points are prevalent in the cuban version of socialism, because no one wants to talk about the dumpster fire that is full blown "let's kill everyone" communism. Lie 1: communism is tyrannical in nature Lie 2: communism leads to tyranny when put into practice These two are literally the same point. In communists countries there is typically no freedom of free or expression. If you go against the regime you are imprisoned no doubt about it. Access to the greater world through internet is very restricted. It might not be complete tyranny but, it's more tyrannical than anyone in western nations is accustomed to. Lie 3: communism hurts living standards Rationing. Literal rationing. It both helps and hurts living standards. Hurts some but helps others. This one is a mixed bag but, you cannot have more than the person next you unless you follow the next point. Lie 4: communism is unrealistic because of “human nature” (or because of other cynical platitudes) Black Markets are prevalent in Marxist societies because of "human nature." Generally there's a underground informal black market that allows people to indulge in their more capitalistic urges. In other words they gravitate towards an informally mixed economy due to human nature.
