@CodeToad @Matt_Bracken @WRSA Dude, this is one of mine. I said Vietnam M16 because the article was about the Vietnam M16. By the time I was drawing an issue from the armory, it was the M16A2, and I didn't have any of the problems my Dad described. We had other problems, like worn-out magazines and M855, but the rifles themselves ran fine. And no, I don't like aluminum rails unless I'm bolting an IR laser to it. Otherwise the standard FSB and heat shielded plastic handguards work great.
