R40. 11 years ago today at Irvine, CA. The next to the last show on the tour. I literally flew halfway around the planet for that show - from Kabul, where I was working as a DoD contractor at the time. Ironic that I'm posting this from the hotel in Toronto tonight as I'm now flying as a captain for Piedmont Airlines. The pics are rather terrible, but at least they are proof I was there! 🤣 Looking back on this show, they were as tight as ever and from the 12th row center stage looking right at Neil it was a bit surrealistic. However, there was a sense of "fin finale émotionnelle" to the eve. Everyone knew that two days hence it would all be over. Or so we thought... Neil is no longer with us. I always say, "No one gets out of this gig alive," and he was taken far too early. But life goes on and Anika Nilles, along with to some extent Loren Gold, have given Alex and Geddy and new lease on the time the have. I am so stoked to see them in this new incarnation this November in Charlotte! Maybe I'll get better pics this time! Center stage again, row 17 floor.
