From @Micheael_Yon: A friend just sent this re NC, “There will be large areas that will be deemed unusable due to environmental contamination by EPA or other agencies. Other areas will not be able to be rebuilt because you cannot build anything which is uninsurable, and insurance companies are going to be changing company policy on the criteria of what they will insure based on this event. Previously revenue-generating properties with mortgages are going to be foreclosed by banks, who are going to take huge losses at resale if the properties suffer restrictions on use. I think we can expect that there will be a huge federal government program to purchase "distressed assets" aka "Land grab". There is plenty of precedent and the majority will cheer. There will also be plenty of imminent domain seizures by state and local government and the Army Corps of Engineers for the "improvement" of infrastructure. Some of these "land grab" measures are a no-brainer. They WILL happen. Its not a conspiracy theory. We are looking at perhaps the largest involuntary transfer of private land to government or institutional ownership since the founding of the National Parks System. Regardless of whether it was planned or nefarious, its going to happen."
