There is zero doubt that Iran still controls the Strait of Hormuz. The US Navy's 2nd blockade runs from the Pakistan border to the eastern tip of Oman, and this line is 650 kilometers from the strait. Aside from the question of fully reopening shipping to pre-28-Feb levels, remains the question of US Navy access to the Persian Gulf. The IRGC says no warships will be allowed into the Persian Gulf. If this holds, it will be a huge defeat for the US Navy to permanently lose its bases, especially Bahrain, which it abandoned just before we began this undeclared war with a sneak attack on 28 Feb, during negotiations.
