@Zander9899 I read the book 'Rebel Yell,' which was about Stonewall Jackson.......it was fascinating. He was actually a godly man (the book has dozens of his letters to his wife) who fought for his country (Virginia) and did it better than most generals in human history. Yes he was harsh on his troops, but he didn't do it out of malice or thoughts of grandeur, he did it because that was how he needed to do it to win battle after battle after battle against a bigger and better equipped opposing army. The shot that killed him (by his own man by mistake upon his return from inspecting the front line), changed history probably more than any one shot in history. I say this with confidence, because his replacement, a week or so later, failed (through lack of initiative) to take little top hill in the battle of Gettysburg (I think that was the name of the hill) and that directly led to the Northern army to reinforce the hill which allowed the North to hold all the high ground (forcing the South to charge into deadly gunfire over and over and over again and ultimately allowed the North to prevail, which was the beginning of the end for the South...........if Stonewall Jackson was alive, it's likely he would have taken the hill before the North realized it's strategic importance and would then prevented the North from owning any other high ground and the North would have been forced to retreat (in their own territory) or make the same fatal charge the South was mowed down doing,......which at that point, would have likely ended the war and forced the North to negotiate a truce/victory for the South. That's why I say he and his life and death is one of the most remarkable figures in history.
