On July 14, 2020, Klaus Schwab, then the acting Chairman of the World Economic Forum, openly declared that “we have to prepare for a more angry world” during a televised CNBC International Live broadcast. Schwab’s pontification part of a broader discussion involving the public release of his magnum opus, ‘COVID-19: The Great Reset’, a written publication marketed as “a guide for anyone who wants to understand how COVID-19 disrupted our social and economic systems, and what changes will be needed to create a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable world going forward”. It’s important to note that while the WEF founder’s utterances were made in reference to the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the socioeconomic foundation of the early 2020’s, that such pronouncements remain applicable to the present. This is especially true in light of the 78th Annual World Health Assembly¹ held on May 19-27, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland, by a congregation of 135 nations. The adoption of a transhemispheric Pandemic Agreement² – what delegations of the member states responsible for providing the principal funding of the World Health Organization (WHO) described as “historic” – coinciding with the theme of the Geneva gathering being ‘One World for Health’ (more aptly characterized as biological totalitarianism), with emphasis placed on ensuring a heightened measure of “equity and safety” in addressing “future pandemics”.
