Completely forgot about pistols if people really care about them that much, for some reason. Anyway. Pistols need to be understood as sidearms, just as they are IRL. So you should not be using them. But if you really want to feel safe, at least take a good handgun, although don't load more than 2 mags for them (and even this is pushing it). IMHO, for pistols you pick between two options. Either the USP with JHP or the Five-Seven with AP. USP has obviously trash armour pen but will reliably drop unarmoured suspects quickly. Five-Seven has good armour pen but kind of low damage.
