SEPTEMBER 7 The Ultimate Victory SCRIPTURE READING: REVELATION 19:1-8 KEY VERSE: JOHN 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Jesus Christ has been ascribed many fitting names. He is the Lamb of God, sacrificed for our sins. But He also is the Lion of Judah. One day He will return as King of kings and Lord of lords. His power will be displayed in all its fullness, and those who have rebelled against Him will reap the consequences. In one instant at his Second Coming, Jesus will return to earth not as a gentle, nurturing Savior but as victorious Judge, Ruler, King, and Lord. He will destroy the evil world system propagated by the Antichrist. He will bind Satan and cast him into hell. Those who have aligned themselves with Christ through the ages are assured victory. We can have confidence that the spiritual battle has already been won—and Jesus is the Victor. No matter how evil our age becomes, we know that ultimately, justice will reign over all the earth. The wicked will be punished and righteousness will be rewarded. Let the assurance of Jesus' victory motivate you to serve Him with your life. One way you can do this is to share your faith. Think of someone you can tell about Him today. Now imagine how rewarding it would be to meet that person in heaven and realize God used you to help get him or her there. Ask God for an opportunity to share His love with that person today. Heavenly Father, please use me today to tell others about You. Help me direct others to Your Son, Jesus Christ. (INTO HIS PRESENCE) My prayer is that this will speak to even one person’s heart in a way that only God can and lead to the reassurance needed and repentance if necessary. Bless His Holy Name, amen!
