A federal judge in Boston has dismissed the Trump administration’s lawsuit accusing Harvard of failing to protect Jewish and Israeli students from harassment. Judge Richard G. Stearns ruled the government failed to plausibly show an ongoing Title VI civil-rights violation. Much of the case focused on incidents tied to the 2023–24 Gaza-war protests, while later allegations were described by the court as too “isolated and episodic” to establish a continuing violation. Important distinction: The ruling does not mean the court determined antisemitic harassment never occurred at Harvard. It means the government’s lawsuit, as filed, did not sufficiently establish that Harvard was currently violating federal civil-rights law or failing to respond after being notified of alleged violations. That distinction matters when discussing what the judge actually ruled. #Harvard #Trump #TitleVI #CivilRights #TruthOverSpin | The Dupree Report
