Generally, you will either be busy... or be a busybody. So much drama and strife is generated by folks who - because they are wasting their lives - wreck others' lives along the way. Someone going for a black belt, building a business, loving his wife and children, winning a local office, laying the groundwork for a productive household, creating things in their local community, staying fit and active, mastering a new skill or discipline... just won't have the time and bandwidth for 95% of the manufactured drama that now dominants news and social media. There are many reasons the Bible gives to avoid busybodies, but one of the biggest is love. A busybody destroys both themselves... and others. Love them enough to push them back to the duties, work, difficulties, and other things God has called them to expend their energy on, instead of wasting it draining the energy of others.
