@Heartiste That is the big picture view. I am hopeful though that there may be one more upswing in store before the winter time of our race sets in. Trump showed the way, just suppose that somebody like Trump could be POTUS for 4 or 5 terms. That would, economically speaking, be awesome. It would not stop the unrolling of the big picture, but it would create a very nice 20-40 years. This may still happen. The fourth turning is upon us and the r-swing has been in force for about 60 years. It is tired and burnt out. The K-swing has already started and will gather more momentum. Quite likely ushering in a new economic boom. Once that K-swing peters out, it will be curtains for the west for a long time. And that time will be horrible, for the west, but even more so for the world. Try to imagine a world where the superpower is not trusting and sharing, but instead it is each for himself. And one after another of the great powers succumbs under the weight. A world of many small warring nations until no modern weaponry is available, no more fighter jets, no more satellites, no more iPhones, no more internet.
