Friday July 17, 2026 🗓️ Where Are the Dead? #1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 We do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, so that you do not sorrow like the rest of mankind who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. The Truth: Do not be ignorant about what happens when a person dies! The heathen and false teachers don't know where the dead are, but Christians do. Instantly, at the moment of death, the soul and spirit body return to our Heavenly Father (Ecclesiastes 12:7). The flesh is just dirt; it goes back to the ground. We miss our loved ones naturally, but we don't mourn without hope. To be absent from the flesh is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). God is the God of the living—our loved ones are already with our Heavenly Father in their spiritual bodies. Reflection: Our loved ones who passed away in Christ are not sleeping in a dark hole in the ground. Their flesh returned to dust, but their spirit body is alive and well in paradise with God. Because they are already with Him, God will bring them with Him when He returns. Personal Question: Do we truly believe in the resurrection power of Christ, and does it bring us comfort knowing our passed loved ones are instantly with Him? #Resurrection #Hope #Eternity #WordOfGod #Comfort
