Ahh yes, in regard to the impeachment you forgot to mention Paxton was in fact acquitted which is a pretty important omission. His felony securities-fraud case was dismissed after he completed a pretrial diversion agreement that included $271,000 in restitution, community service and ethics training—and the agreement did not include an admission of guilt. In regard to the sex abuse it was a plea deal offered by prosecutors in Paxton’s office, not Paxton personally sentencing someone to one day in jail. The judge rejected the original one-day recommendation and the eventual agreement involved 30 days in jail and surrender of the defendant’s law license.
