He passed within seven miles of Ewell's column on its way to Gettysburg and neither knew that the other was near. My personal belief is that the South was just one battle away from victory before the "powers above" allowed General Jackson to be killed. If General Jackson remained alive and had fought at Gettysburg he would have prayed to God as he had at Chancellorsville for all those "ACCIDENTAL CIRCUMSTANCES" to go in the South's favor and the South would have won at Gettysburg. Then the southern forces would have proceeded on and taken Washington ending the war.
