NSW has officially BANNED the public display of Nazi flags or memorabilia featuring swastikas. The move comes after a public inquiry and could see offenders slapped with a fine of over $100,000 or up to a year's jail time. Legislation passed the state's upper house last night with unanimous support. Earlier this year, an inquiry recommended a ban on the public display of Nazi symbols to combat anti-semitism. Attorney-General Mark Speakman said the passing of the new law showed anti-semitism and racism won't be tolerated in NSW.
