If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (A note of caution here is how there’s a difference between imitating Jesus and trusting the finished work of Jesus.) (SIDE NOTE: The term “Christ” is a title, not a name. It means either “Anointed One” or “Messiah”. “Jesus” means “The LORD is salvation”.) (ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: Don’t forget that “LORD” (all caps) in the Old Testament is the HEBREW word. It’s a reference to “Yahweh”. By contrast, “Lord” in the New Testament is the GREEK word. It’s a reference to “Jesus”, which is the English translation of the word “Yeshua”.
