I sold a vacation package last winter, for a departure in October. As their travel advisor I received an email telling me that their flight information changed. In this case it was a pretty drastic change, almost 2 hours earlier. What if my client booked this herself and missed the email telling her that her flight departure time is 2 hours earlier? What if the email went to the spam folder? I worked at the ticket counter at the airport and helped many customers who booked their travel, the flight schedule changed, and they missed the memo. They'd walk up at 545 thinking their departure is still an hour out and I'd have to break their heart or really piss them off and explain to them their flight departed 45 minutes ago and already landed in Charlotte. "We sent you an email and told you about this on June 29th" and here it is October on their day of travel. I would always go above and beyond to get them on their way, but now I have my own business and I make damn sure my clients know about shit like this.
