Here's what I'd expect to see from the Deep State Democrats and their doomed and fraudulent impeachment effort. If Pelosi continues to stand firm on withholding the AOIs from the Senate thus preventing a proper trial, it's likely they'll craft a narrative around the Senate's impeachment rules. The rules pretext is already out there. So then, if the effort to wrestle away control of the Senate's impeachment rules by leveraging the AOIs fails, there is one distinct fallback position that works for them regarding 2020 and efforts towards self-preservation. In this case, I would expect the narrative to shift towards a basis for censuring President Trump citing "unfair" Senate impeachment rules. Those "unfair" rules will be used as the basis for refusing to submit the AOIs to the Senate. Conceivably, it would allow them to wiggle, squirm and back down while attempting to save face with their base. It's a logical appeasement move for the base and the Maddow, Matthews, et al. crew will sell the talking points far and wide . They know full well that the base's vote was never at risk. Unfortunately and contrary to the goals of the President's opponents, for well-grounded Independents and objective-minded Democrats, such a maneuver will ring hollow before falling flat. Those objective-minded folks are then likely to exit the Democratic Party en mass and in favor of President Trump. So, they may try to back down with grace and avoid prosecution, etc. If they do, I bet this is what it looks like.
