A handful of things one can recognize from the scriptures if one listens attentively to the Lord's Testimony; A nation is their people- When the nations were divided after Babel, each was a family from a Patriarch. Even the nations were named after their patriarch. Furthermore the mixing of nations was seen as an abomination, a thing which should not be in the eyes of God. God set apart Israel to be the example; Not only was it not to mix with outsiders, but every tribe within it was to retain the land of their father indefinitely. Every Jubilee, land was to be returned to the family that had inherited it. An everlasting inheritance. The command to love thy neighbor to Israel was quite literally to love their own family. Likewise we in Christ are commanded to love the Brethren, who are family in Christ.
