I'm not a risk taker. I don't gamble. I didn't buy bitcoin at $10. I've never quit a job without a well planned exit strategy. I didnt move my old retirement out of the safe investment packages. In 2021, I was removed from state service for my refusal to be vaccinated as it violated my Christian beliefs. So for the first time in my life I found myself unemployed with a family to provide for. In 2022 I took a big risk. I started my own business in the worst possible way. I checked off every box that leads to near certain failure. I'm white. In my forties. In construction. Using my retirement for funding. Starting a one man shop in an industry I haven't actively participated in for 8 years. With no clients, no advertising, and a fraction of the tools requisite to effectively do the job. My first client was a man from my church. I hit the ground going door to door. By the grace of God, hard work, and a wonderfully supportive wife; we are finishing this year still in business. I hope God will grant me the courage to continue growing this business in 2023.
