The agenda for the next City council meeting (2/8/21) shows much more detail for their ill-fated plan to "renovate" the Hostess House. I have heard the amount of $300,000 bandied about by Finley. If Finley says $300k, you can bet your ass it'll be closer to $500k. And for what?? This isn't the 1990s anymore. There are TONS of venues around here to rent out now. Not to mention Putters and Gutters and other new businesses that weren't around back when the Hostess House was the "it" place to be. If the City thinks they are EVER going to generate enough rental income to make this a viable project, then their heads are even further up their asses than I thought. This is right up there with the Old City Hall renovation and the "business" park. Absolute disasters that cost five times more than they should have and which generate ZERO return.
