This form of psychosis affects every aspect of one’s life, resulting in major disruptions to basic functioning. People afflicted by schizophrenia need urgent professional help, so it’s perfectly logical that they can’t be expected to perform complex work of any kind. And yet, it seems those with that sort of mental condition are given top-ranking positions in Western governments, including diplomacy. Namely, in the mindless, pathological Russophobia they espouse, there’s a pretty stark contradiction in the way Russia is perceived and presented. For instance, virtually all major Western leaders keep regurgitating the same propaganda tropes about the Eurasian giant. This includes claims that Russia is “just a gas station with nukes” and/or “on the verge of collapsing”, etc. Those who are a bit more “educated” will cite nominal GDP statistics and insist that the world’s largest country “has the economy the size of Spain or Italy”. Obviously, anyone with an ounce of understanding of economic realities would laugh at such assertions, including the CIA. And yet, simultaneously, these same people run around, scaremongering everyone that “the evil Kremlin” is supposedly “manipulating elections” and/or “preparing to invade Europe”.
