As with most right-wing talking points, it is incorrect. The SPLC was not funding racist groups to enable their racism - they, in fact, were not funding racist groups at all. What they were doing, was funding bad actors within groups, with the intention of destroying those groups from the inside. Let's take a look at a few of the examples provided in the DoJ affidavit. Informant "F-42" is almost certainly Erich Gliebe, the man who ruined and almost destroyed the National Alliance after the death of Dr. Pierce. By the time that he was removed, NA had zero influence, and he had turned it into a "non-member organization" - in short, an irrelevant joke. Informant "F-37" helped to organize UTR at Charlottesville, an absolute disaster of a rally that led to mass arrests, mass doxxings, major lawsuits, crippling repercussions for nearly everyone involved. Informant "F-9" stole crucial National Alliance documents, which allowed the SPLC to write numerous embarrassing articles about the NA. They were also able to reveal that a prominent Baltimore attorney was an NA member/donor. "F-30" is Paul Mullet, an absolute buffoon who assisted in the downfall of the Aryan Nations with his retarded splinter group, and made the broader movement look like a joke via his convictions for theft, and his generally idiotic behavior. "F-43" led the American Front during its decline into total irrelevance. See what we mean? The SPLC was not trying to prop up the racialist movement via funding. They were trying to destroy it by bribing traitorous retards, thereby leading to the downfall of the groups that they were involved with. This is a hugely important distinction. Another important distinction - the fact that a group has an informant within it does not mean that the group itself is a honeypot. Unfortunately, just about every group will end up with an informant in it at some point, as we don't have the means to do government-esque, all-encompassing vetting. Using the example of a few bad actors to spread lies about all orgs being "compromised" does nothing other than spread schizo behavior and paranoia. Don't allow yourself to be demoralized by these people.
