Sometimes fixing breakfast on the homestead is tough. For example, this morning we decided on a bacon/egg sandwich. Well, there was no bacon in the fridge. There were no eggs in the fridge. There was no bread in the kitchen. Only a couple pieces of lettuce in the fridge. So, wife went out to the freezer, and pulled out some bread (we freeze our excess.....makes no difference if you're toasting it anyway). Then she went to the canning pantry and got a jar of bacon. Then she went to the root cellar and got a dozen eggs. While she was there, got a few potatoes for some hash browns. (All 3 of those are located in or adjoining the garage, which adjoins the kitchen, so it wasn't a LONG trip). Since we had some lettuce, she didn't have to go down to the hoop house to pick some. By the time I had the frying pan out and heated a bit, she was back from the grocery run. Beat a trip to McDonalds ! Freezer Row Can Pantry Root Cellar Lettuce in Hoop House
