My Poem about "Heartbreak from sin, and Deep Love Realized." Pookie Poocum's Journey Pookie Poocums wore polished shoes, And tailored coats in flashy hues, He spoke of yachts and crystal skies, While half his world was built on lies. He dodged the blame, escaped the truth, Still chasing dreams of endless youth, He used the hearts that loved him best, Then vanished when they sought respect. The Lady loved with open hands, With loyal heart and future plans, She stood beside him through the rain, Through every hollow boast and game. But Pookie longed for something more, A fantasy life he adored, And when no baby came to be, He left her drowning silently. The Lady shattered, torn apart, Still carrying his ghostly heart, She cried alone through countless nights, While missing him beneath moonlight. Then Pookie found another flame, A different face, a different name, And soon the world around him sang— A tiny life within began. But fate can turn with bitter speed, And sorrow blooms where hopes once breathed, The expectation was lost one night, And all their dreams dissolved from sight. Pookie cried like storms at sea, His grand illusions cracked suddenly, The Replacement, weary from the pain, Finally left him in the rain. Months went by in heavy gray, As guilt refused to fade away, His mansion dreams and shiny schemes Were haunted now by broken dreams. Then one cold evening, worn and weak, He searched for who he longed to seek, The Lady answered, guarded still, Yet sensed his heart had finally stilled. She said, “The world has changed its frame. Do you now understand this pain? Will you fight for me at last? Or run again from what has passed?” The sunset burned in amber gold, As silence wrapped around his soul, And later, drifting into sleep, He wandered somewhere dark and deep. Again the dream! (The freezing tide, The Lady slipping from his side, Her fragile hands beneath the waves, Her voice now distant from the grave. Before, he only watched her drown, Too lost in self to turn around, But this time something fierce awoke, A truth that finally pierced the smoke. He dove into the icy black, And fought the current pulling back, He reached her hand with desperate grace, And pulled her breathing from that place.) Pookie woke with shaking breath, As though he’d outrun living death, He grabbed his keys before first light, And drove beneath the fading night. The stars above seemed bright anew, The road ahead felt honest, true, For hope, once buried under pride, Had somehow come back alive inside. Because the heart attracts its way, By what it chooses every day, And when a soul begins to heal, The universe begins to feel. So Pookie drove through dawn’s first gleam, No longer chained to hollow dreams, For love still waited, bruised but bright, And hope was drawing him toward light.
