**WHAT IS FREEMASONRY, AND WHAT IS ITS OBJECT?** "Freemasonry is judaism, masked under the first name; consequently, all jews are Freemasons or Liberals, by nature. Nevertheless, there are many persons who, without being jews, are Freemasons, for reasons we shall afterwards point out. If Freemasonry is equivalent to judaism, the political object of the Freemasons and jews can be no other than to establish themselves into a corporate nation, notwithstanding the anathema by which they are condemned, forever, to live like wanderers and vagabonds among all nations, without country, King, and laws. The political object of the Freemasons and jews being the re-establishment of their nation, their religious object can be no other than to re-establish the Law of Moses [noahide laws], or that of the jews, **and, consequently, the Temple of Solomon, which symbolically represents it.** • • • • • **PROOFS OF THE ABOVE ASSERTIONS DEDUCED FROM MANY AND STRIKING SIGNS** "All the signs, rites, ceremonies of the Freemasons, are jewish, and even the words they use are Hebrew. The allegorical history of their master, Hiram, **is all taken from the history of the jews in the Old Testament**. The columns in the Lodges represent those of the Temple of the above King, and their documents are dated in Jerusalem. **Their computations of time are also according to the law of Moses**. Among a curious collection of papers we lately received from Madrid, is one containing an elaborate series of remarks, tending to prove that Freemasonry is nothing but judaism; and an immense number of these papers have been printed by order of the Regency, and distributed among the inhabitants of the provinces, for the purpose of exciting odium against the Constitutionalists, many of whom are Freemasons, by a strong appeal to the religious prejudices of the lower orders. The paper in question is most probably drawn up by some one of the monks now preparing to take possession of his convent, and to revel amidst the good things he will be able to squeeze out of the poor peasants; and certainly it would have been undeserving of notice, if it had not first been published by the command of the Madrid Regency, in their own Gazette, and afterwards in a separate form for a political purpose.
