PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I HAVE THIS WRONG! My understanding is that the Supreme Court did NOT make abortions illegal, they just said each State decides the abortion issue. I can not imagine any State not allowing someone to get an abortion in the case of rape, incest, or the mother could die if the pregnancy continued, or there was a medical issue with the baby. Some States will allow abortion up to the 9th month for no other reason than the fact that the mother does not want the baby. Just a word of caution to anyone choosing to abort a baby. I know people who have aborted a baby, and they have regretted the decision all their lives. As a retired nurse, we determined if the person was alive or dead by whether or not they had a heartbeat. Babies in the womb have their own heartbeat, so they are alive.
