The #WorldsWorstFuturist predicts: Bribery in the US will become a normal part of even low-level government interactions. Corruption trickles down. If it remains unchecked, bribery penetrates lower and lower down through the strata of government power, until, on top of any official fees, an additional, individual 'donation' becomes necessary to, say, get a permit to build a shed, or to renew a drivers license. This sort of thing is common in much of the world, and taken as simply part of life. But to modern Americans, the idea is abhorrent. Still, it is coming. It will become expected to pay a traffic cop at roadside. It will become expected for you to pay under the table for your child to graduate. You will be expected to pay and grovel to anyone with the authority to make trouble in your life.
