I did not begin with superior genes, a perfect childhood, unlimited resources, powerful connections, or some guarantee that I would succeed. I began with a **“don’t give up” attitude.** That attitude was not inherited. It was built through every moment when quitting would have been easier, every rejection that made me question my worth, and every failure that forced me to decide whether I would remain on the ground or stand back up. It is not a privilege reserved for exceptional people. It is something anyone can install. You install it every time you try again after embarrassment. You strengthen it every time you learn from a mistake instead of allowing that mistake to define you. You update it whenever you discover a better method, admit that something needs improvement, and continue working. You do not need superior genes to become a better version of yourself. You need the courage to believe that your current version is not your final version. Stop allowing racist people to define what racism is permitted to mean to you. Racism is not determined by whether the person causing harm agrees with the definition. Look at what people actually do: whether they reduce someone’s humanity, assign worth according to race, deny equal dignity, or treat entire groups as though they are inherently inferior. Judge people by who they are, what they do, how they treat others, and whether they are willing to correct the harm they cause. And stop giving up on people who could have become your friends—people who might have stood beside you, supported your growth, defended you when you were absent, and fought in your corner. Do not turn human connection into a revolving door of abandonment. One person becomes afraid and leaves. The person left behind stops trusting. Someone new arrives and is punished for damage they did not cause. They eventually leave too, and the cycle begins again. If everyone gives up on everyone else, it will end in disaster every time. That does not mean remaining in relationships that are abusive, dangerous, or destructive. Protecting yourself is not the same as abandoning someone at the first sign of imperfection. Use boundaries. Speak honestly. Listen carefully. Correct what went wrong. Allow people to demonstrate genuine change—but never confuse forgiveness with permission to continue causing harm. Learn the difference between someone who is struggling and someone who refuses accountability. Learn the difference between a mistake and a pattern. Learn the difference between protecting yourself and discarding someone simply because understanding them requires effort. Because this has never been only about me or my success. **I fail for you.** I take chances that may not work. I test ideas that may break. I face rejection, criticism, embarrassment, and uncertainty so that the people watching me can see what persistence actually looks like. I do not fail because I want failure. I fail because attempting something meaningful always includes the possibility of failure—and I would rather fail while pursuing a purpose than succeed at doing nothing. I will keep failing for you because I will keep trying for you. Every mistake I examine can become a lesson someone else does not have to learn alone. Every time I stand back up, I leave evidence that falling does not have to become the conclusion. I will continue believing that you can grow, change, recover, and become greater than the version of yourself you see today. I will not give up on you simply because you are unfinished. I will not give up on you simply because you became afraid. I will not give up on you simply because you failed. Even if you have already given up on yourself, I will keep reminding you that your story does not have to end there. But I cannot walk the entire distance for you. At some point, you must decide to stand up. At some point, you must install your own refusal to quit. I did not inherit certainty. I did not begin with perfection. I began with the decision that failure would never be allowed to make my final decision for me. **I installed the refusal to quit.** You can install it too. Stop giving up on yourself. Stop giving up on people who are still sincerely trying. Stop turning human connection into a revolving door where everyone leaves before anyone has the opportunity to grow. Break the cycle before the cycle breaks all of us. Your current version is not your final version. **Failure is not the conclusion.** **Be Strong. Be Brave. Be Perplex.**
