Self destructive altruism is the vice of the modern European and American man. We are literally too nice, too understanding, too tolerant, too compassionate, and too forgiving to the point of our own destruction. I don’t think Jesus meant to love your enemies to the point of allowing them to take over your home and genocide your people.
