Matthew 6:5 | The Kingdom Prayer Is for Israel, Not the Church Matthew 6:5–13 sets worship, prayer, daily bread, debt, and temptation in the coming Kingdom of the Heavens. Jesus tells Israel not to worship for display, to hallow the Father’s Name, to look toward the kingdom handed over at the end of the Millennium, and to ask for daily food, the sending away of trespass, and deliverance from men who spread wrongdoing. The passage distinguishes Israel’s Millennial communication with the Father from the Church’s present life of grace, thanksgiving, and endurance.
