Remember when TV shows used to show every family's home as having #printedbooks, a #homelibrary or #bookshelf...?! Traditional hardcopy physical #books have several advantages over digital: - stability of content, - transparent publication history (version/edition, copyright date, ISBN, authorship), - no data tracking of readers, - many may read a book, for an indefinite length of time, without paying more, - no scheduled downtime, unplanned outage. Parents can see what is being taught/learned, - can skim for context and tone, - can ascertain gaps/omissions/censorship... what is NOT being taught. #advantagesoftraditionalhardcopybooks #education #homeschool Several years ago, I purchased the iconic Noah Webster Dictionary from 1828, and am glad that I did! It is amazing to see many definitions recently changing, in online dictionaries. https://webstersdictionary1828.com/ That said, the 1828 dictionary does not have ALL the words which I try to look up. So my advice is to save other printed dictionary books, also. In fact, save MANY #books. There are many #advantagesofbooks!
