I made an update on an article by a local woman of what turned out to be #scammers in the local train Station near me. I quote this woman’s article: “There is a ''family'' of people living at the train station for a while now, trying to rent an apartment and don't know who can help!” Along with this photo, the article initially got over 20 reactions plus many #sympathetic comment replies. It turns out that this “family” is just a couple with someone else’s kids, who luckily are now back with their real parents. The couple themselves live in a neighboring municipality of mine. This was only a #scam of the couple telling a story, who speak good English, as contrary to what was told. In that other town one day, I ran into the couple at an eatery in that neighboring town, and the woman said that it was all her husband’s idea. They now have a #court_date in a couple of months. I hope that more people will know enough to see the difference between good will and #stupidity, and not extend their socialistic-liberal ideas and actions to panhandlers and scam artists. When strangers want money or help carry out a scam of any kind, don’t cave. Talk to them and find out their motives rather than have pre-conceived notions of what they need. It’s better to be charitable than selfish, but’s it’s also better to be smart then stupid. Don’t let your town turn to a dump by unknowingly contributing to crime.
