"But you should not be called โ๐ ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ ๐ข๐ป๐ฒโ {ยฒยณโฐ} for there is only one Who is Great and you are all brothers." {ยฒยณโฐ} Aramaic here does not mean โRabbiโ as in โteacherโ per se, as in Matthew 28 Yโshua commands his disciples to teach the world. Instead, Yโshua is addressing the more literal meaning of โrabโ which is โgreatโ as shown in Genesis 6:5, โ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ธ๐ช๐ค๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ด๐ด ๐ฐ๐ง ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ ๐ธ๐ข๐ด *๐จ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ต* ๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ต๐ฉ.โ The previous eight verses teach against elitist behavior, so โdo not be called โ๐๐บ ๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ต ๐๐ฏ๐ฆโ, for you have One that is Great, YHWH.โ This is directed to the Rabbis (leaders) themselves, not to the followers. Certainly, this does not win popularity among the Rabbis. See โ๐๐ข๐ฃ๐ฃ๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ค๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ถ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ต๐บ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฐ๐ณ๐ข๐ฉโ in Appendix in the AENT Bible. #matthew23 #mark10 #john20 #genesis6 #rabbi #rabboni #TextualStudy #bible #scriptures
