The DN Sovereign Accumulation Tracker: Which National Fund Buys Bitcoin Next? The next major Bitcoin buyers may not look like retail traders. They may not look like hedge funds either. They may look like sovereign wealth funds. These are the pools of capital that manage national reserves, oil wealth, pension assets and long-term purchasing power. They do not think in quarters. They think in decades. And quietly, some of them are already gaining Bitcoin and crypto exposure. Abu Dhabi is the clearest example. Mubadala and ADIC-linked entities have built meaningful exposure to BlackRock’s IBIT, with the uploaded framework showing a pattern of repeated additions. That is not meme trading. That is sovereign accumulation through a regulated ETF wrapper. Norway is different. NBIM does not need to buy Bitcoin directly to gain Bitcoin exposure. It already receives indirect exposure through index holdings in companies such as Strategy, Coinbase, MARA, Block and Metaplanet. That means one of the world’s largest sovereign funds can inherit Bitcoin beta through equity-market mechanics. Singapore is more cautious. GIC appears more focused on crypto infrastructure. Temasek remains shaped by the FTX write-down. Kazakhstan is moving through a formal national crypto reserve path. Saudi Arabia’s PIF may be one of the largest future candidates, but direct Bitcoin exposure is politically sensitive because of oil pricing, OPEC and dollar relationships. Luxembourg matters because even a small Bitcoin ETF allocation creates a European precedent. The big point is simple: Sovereign wealth funds do not need to go all-in for Bitcoin to matter. A 0.1% test allocation is small. A 0.5% allocation from a giant fund is huge. A 1% or 2% allocation across multiple sovereign funds becomes a structural demand event. The market often focuses on ETF flows, retail demand and corporate treasuries. But sovereign capital is different. It is slower. It is more political. It is more durable. It can also remove supply from the market for years. That is why Decentralised News built the DN Sovereign Accumulation Tracker. The question is not only who already owns exposure. The better question is: Who has the incentive, mandate, political cover and trigger to move next? The sovereign Bitcoin queue may already be forming.
