Perpetual DEX Stop-Loss Reliability Test 2027: Which Platforms Actually Exit Before Liquidation? A stop-loss order is supposed to protect you. But on a perpetual DEX, there are actually several separate questions: **Did the stop trigger?** **Did the order fill?** **Did it fill before liquidation?** Those are not the same thing. Different perp DEXs use very different stop architectures. Some trigger from: **Mark Price** Others use: **Oracle Price** Others use: **Directional oracle bounds** and some even let the trader choose between: **Mark Price and Last Price.** Then, once the trigger fires, execution may depend on: • Order-book liquidity • Keepers • Oracle updates • Slippage • Partial fills • Validator consensus • Chain congestion • Market volatility • Liquidation timing That means two exchanges can both advertise: **“Stop Loss Supported”** while providing completely different protection in a fast market. So we built the **DN Stop-Loss Reliability Score**. The benchmark is designed to test live platforms including: **GMX** **Hyperliquid** **Lighter** **gTrade** **Paradex** **dYdX** **Aster** **MYX** **EVEDEX** **Vest Markets** across: **Trigger Fidelity → Fill Completion → Trigger-to-Fill Latency → Slippage → Oracle Delay → Liquidation Protection → Execution Reliability** Some of the architectural differences are already striking. **GMX** uses Chainlink Data Stream min/max prices for stop triggering rather than its displayed mark. **Hyperliquid, Lighter and Paradex** use mark-price triggers followed by order-book execution. **Aster** lets traders choose between mark and last price. **gTrade** makes one of the strongest documented stop-price claims for qualifying BTC and ETH positions. **MYX** relies on an oracle plus keeper architecture. But we are not pretending those differences alone tell us who wins. The real benchmark begins when: **Price Moves** ↓ **Trigger Fires** ↓ **Order Executes** ↓ **Position Closes** ↓ **Liquidation Either Happens or Doesn’t** The goal is to eventually publish: • Median trigger latency • P95 trigger latency • Full-fill rate • Median stop slippage • Failure rate • Stop-before-liquidation rate • Stop-to-liquidation buffer survival Because for a leveraged trader, a stop that works 95% of the time may still fail on the one move that matters most.
