The current backend implementation of comments has been identified as a high priority performance bug, and we expect to have a >10x faster version very soon.

To mitigate this, we are caching comments in the edge heavily, which is why you may see that it can take a while for new comments to appear. We intend to reduce our cache timeouts as soon as we improve the backend.
