IN CALIFORNIA WE WOULD STILL BE SCREWED! Even if the SAVE Act (federal voter‑ID requirement) passed tomorrow, it wouldn’t stop fraudulent mail‑in ballots by itself, because voter ID laws only apply at the point of registration or in‑person voting. Mail‑in ballots are a different system with different vulnerabilities. That’s the part most people miss. Bottom line The SAVE Act would change who can register, not how mail‑in ballots are created, distributed, or verified. So it wouldn’t, by itself, prevent fraudulent mail‑in ballots — because that’s a ballot‑security issue, not a voter‑ID issue.
