Current and future gen men, many have fathers who have died, not been there, or exited their life and moved on with other families, a lack of masculine positive role models. That was the baseline state of (we as a current society and) He-Man in this movie as well. But it shows with perseverance you can overcome this lack of a role model and make something of yourself, a new masculinity based on how you think or feel, rather than what your father made you or the lack of father made you. It's a positive message for men that this is not the end, that we can reclaim masculinity and wield it better than the last crop of men who were poisoned by society and the beliefs of both conservative and neoliberal men to build something new that fits for a new world coming. (My Take on the Movie?) As a child who had ALL the toys and loved the OG comics and series, I even had the playsets and underwear. The OG movie really disappointed me as a kid. I've grown to LOVE it over the years but this new one kicks the SHIT out of the old movie. Perfect summer popcorn flick and I would love to see more of this iteration of He-Man. While Box Office Sales were meh, it seems it was one of the most popular streaming films of this summer which means we can still hope for a sequel! I found very little wokeness and tons of fanservice without it being 'memberberries'.
