Opting Out (@electronics)

Wondering if my account was hacked, or if access to it was given by somebody else. I just saw a repost on it that I definitely did not make myself, one that ties in a little too well with the narrative being pushed by a Nazi troll I dealt with, yesterday. My password was a long randomized hash, so it should have been highly resistant to cracking. On the other hand, Drew's pro-Nazi sympathies have been no secret, and his team does have root level access to my account, so if one of their little friends wanted to get in and do a little fuckery, they certainly could help him out with that, easily, and it wouldn't be at all out of character for them. We are talking about the same Support team that has routinely played dumb when death threats were reported to it, so no, this kind of petty harassment would not be beneath them, at all. Yes, I can change my password, but if there's somebody on staff who is willing to help a known psychopath engage in virtual breaking and entering, there's not much I can do about that. Nor do I have more than a slight incentive to attempt the impossible, in this case. Yes, I've run into good people, but I've also run into an endless line of flat earthers and crazed racists and conspiracy theorists who've posted unhinged rants because I've refused to hate people just for not being White or Christian, or because I wouldn't validate their crankish theories (eg. The Devils's Tower being a giant, ancient petrified tree trunk). If I do not lose access to this account, I'll post links from it to other places where I can be found online, sometime probably in the very near future. You'll be able to confirm that these are legitimate easily enough, because I'll also link to them from Wordpress. I can't promise that there will be a lot of content there, because the Internet has been dragging me away from my studies far too much and that needs to stop, but if I do post, there I will be, and it's about time. Seriously, staying up until 4 am dealing with some clown who was angry with me because I mentioned the existence of Black scientists and engineers and now is being assisted in his butthurt-motivated vandalism by the very people who are supposed to be keeping order around here? No mas. I deserve better than that, and I have better places to be. Not to mention better things to do.
